Claim your old account
Called The Windows Source BBS back in the 90s? Your account is probably still here. Every old user record from the original board was kept, with your handle, your call count and your message posts, but it's locked so nobody else can grab it.
If you try to log on with an old name, the board will send you here. Fill this out and tell me whatever you remember. I'll check it against the old records myself and, if it lines up, I'll unlock the account and email you a new password. Then you can log on just like you did back in the day.
Just want to look around first? Use the guest login on the log in page.
A few things to know
- I (Craig, the sysop) look at every claim by hand. Nothing is automatic.
- Nothing you send here is published. It's only used to match you to your old account.
- The old personal info on the board (addresses, phone numbers, birthdays, passwords) has been wiped. Your handle, stats and public posts are still there.
- You don't have to remember everything. Just give it your best shot.
What happens next
- Your claim goes into a private queue. Only I can see it.
- I compare it to the old records. If it's a match, I unlock the account and email you a new password.
- If I can't tell, I'll email you a question or two.
- Not your account, or you'd rather start fresh? Just call the board and pick a new name.
Want your old account removed instead? Say so in the memory box and I'll take care of it.
